Info about the Trust Fund

This Fund for charitable purposes was effectively established on March 1, 1980. The Fund is officially administered under the title of "The St. Andrew's Society of Winnipeg Trust Fund."

The Trust Fund is operated in accordance with its trust deed and is completely independent of the Society and the Board.

Purpose:

The Trust Fund derives support from financial donations, bequests and fund raising events from St. Andrew's Society activities.  All capital in the Trust Fund is invested in an independent account and in secure holdings.  The Trustees of the Trust Fund are the St. Andrew's Society President and Vice President along with elected independent trustees who have full responsibility for the custody and investment of all subscriptions and donations.  Capital may be transferred from the Operating Fund of the Society for specific allocations solely at the discretion of the St. Andrew's Trust Fund Trustees.  The Society and the St. Andrew's Board have no authority of discretion in the divestiture of the proceeds of the St. Andrew's Trust Fund.  The Board may at its discretion appeal to the Trustees of the Trust fund for favourable consideration and distribution of the Fund's resources.  Surplus funds from the President's Fund may be transferred to the Trust Fund at the discretion of the President.  Donations to the Trust Fund are treated under the Income Tax Act as charitable donations.
